1 Aggregation- compiling of information from databases with intent to prepare combined datasets for data processing

2 Algorithm- a sequence of well-defined instructions typically to solve a class of problems or perform a computation.

3 Anomalous Trends- deviations from the norm

4 Benchmarking- the process of measuring products, services, and processes against those of organizations known to be leaders in one or more aspects of their operations

5 Big Data- large, ever-growing, diverse collections of information inundating businesses in real-time

6 Business Intelligence- data analysis that provides historical, current, and predictive views of business operations

7 Cloud- a platform that supports multiple workloads, from development across multiple providers and regions from anywhere in the organization, the stored data is accessible through a web-based interface

8 Complex Event Processing- finding, threats, cause and effect relationships, and opportunities after analyzing data

9 Dashboard- visual monitoring tool used to display data that has been tracked, analyzed, and measured

10 Data Scientist- an analytic expert with the ability to interpret complex problems with their technical skills

11 Insights- knowledge gained from analyzing data sets aiding in decision making

12 Meta Data- data about data

13 Mining- the process of discovering patterns in large data sets

14 Process mining- turns event data into insights and actions

15 Query- a request for information from a database or combination of tables

16 Software as a Service (SaaS)- a software licensing and delivery model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted

17 SQL (Structured Query Language)- a language used in programming. Manages data held in a database management system or for stream processing in a relational data stream management system

18 Visualization- imagery that communicates both abstract and concrete ideas
